The Bone House is an upcoming museum devoted to the extraordinary bones of gibbons—designed to educate, inspire, and support their conservation.

The Bone House

The Bone House is a future project currently in its fundraising phase, envisioned as a one-of-a-kind museum located on-site at the Gibbon Conservation Center. This immersive space will feature interactive displays, clear educational signage, and comparative exhibits that visually explore the extraordinary skeletal anatomy of gibbons—highlighting the specialized traits that make them such remarkable primates.

Beyond public exhibits, The Bone House will also house a dedicated research collection. This curated space will store prepared specimens and cataloged materials, thoughtfully managed to support ongoing, non-invasive research and future scientific study of gibbons.

Undeniably unique in both purpose and design, The Bone House will create meaningful educational opportunities for visitors while advancing research that deepens our understanding of—and protection for—the gibbon species.

Building a Home for Gibbon Discovery

While we fundraise for the permanent Bone House, visitors can experience The Bone Shack—a mobile, pop-up exhibit that brings the future museum to life. This interactive preview introduces the remarkable skeletal anatomy of gibbons and shares the vision behind a dedicated space for education, conservation, and research.

The Bone Shack is part of our Saturday tours (weather permitting) and offers a meaningful way to connect with the project, learn how gibbon anatomy tells a powerful evolutionary story, and see firsthand how your support helps turn this vision into reality.
